In the 21st minute Peter Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esbjörn Tunander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfons Arenstedt took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zafer Hürsel. Zafer Hürsel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Esbjörn Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Kjellman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lövstalöt BK's Esbjörn Tunander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Emander in the 31st minute of play. Alfons Arenstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zafer Hürsel having to interfere. Lövstalöt BK were furious when Sten Isaksson was red carded, 39 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. Håkan Kjellman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Esbjörn Tunander. 1-2. Esbjörn Tunander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Emander, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When Emanuel Emander came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the FC Zenit Saint Petersburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Emander couldn't finish the play.
