When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Philip Håning put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Anatoliy Trubin. Betão Basso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Torsten Stålman made a huge save. The San Fantastico 89ers manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Watford FC to win.
