G A I S's Staffan Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Henriksson in the 19th minute of play. Staffan Eckegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Henriksson in the 22nd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, G A I S's goal looked a bit too open when Per Henriksson came free, but Staffan Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Roger Stenquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias Bern in the 26th minute of play. In the 28thth minute of the game Per Henriksson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but G A I S's Staffan Eckegren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Per Henriksson in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Staffan Eckegren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Staffan Eckegren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christer Skräddare's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Roger Stenquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Bern in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, G A I S's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Skräddare came free, but Staffan Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthias Bern made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Göransson in the 52nd minute of play forced G A I S's goalkeeper Staffan Eckegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's Per Henriksson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Staffan Eckegren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mark Smed made a great header on Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's corner, it was just that G A I S's Staffan Eckegren managed to reach the ball for a save. Staffan Eckegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Henriksson in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Bern came free, but Roger Stenquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mesopotamia Beth-Nahrin's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Per Henriksson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Staffan Eckegren. That made the score 1-2 in the 76 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Per Henriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Staffan Eckegren was relentless in the 79th minute of the game.
