Juliusz Jarocewicz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ulryk Ziemniak came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Grabik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulryk Ziemniak couldn't finish the play. Ignacy Ziomkowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulryk Ziemniak went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Gustaw Witek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juliusz Jarocewicz having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateusz Zdrojowy in the 25th minute of play forced West Bromwich Albion's goalkeeper Ignacy Ziomkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignacy Ziomkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateusz Zdrojowy in the 28th minute of play. Gustaw Witek might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juliusz Jarocewicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaw Witek ran back to his position shaking his head. Mateusz Zdrojowy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignacy Ziomkowski having to interfere. Ignacy Ziomkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateusz Zdrojowy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateusz Zdrojowy to strike the kick off in the second half. When Jerzy Rudy fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored West Bromwich Albion's protests and gave Jerzy Rudy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th match minute, West Bromwich Albion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerzy Rudy to maneuver through the defense. After 63 played minutes Grabik got a freekick which was hit by Borys Dankowski. In the 67thth minute of the game Gustaw Witek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grabik's Juliusz Jarocewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 69th minute, Gustaw Witek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juliusz Jarocewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaw Witek in the 70th minute of the match. Wiktor Zatorski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juliusz Jarocewicz having to interfere. West Bromwich Albion's Ignacy Ziomkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save West Bromwich Albion from getting a goal against them. The long shot by Beniamin Grocholski in the 77th minute really tested Ignacy Ziomkowski's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ignacy Ziomkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateusz Zdrojowy in the 79th minute of play. Benedykt Zaworski hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Ignacy Ziomkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateusz Zdrojowy in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Mateusz Zdrojowy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignacy Ziomkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see West Bromwich Albion lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
