Olaf Dombrowski charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olaf Dombrowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Olaf Dombrowski kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. A collision led to Old Star getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Miroslaw Grocholski hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Ziemowit Dzierwa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafal Niedziela was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Merengues's Przemyslaw Gollob played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miroslaw Grocholski in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Merengues's goal looked a bit too open when Mehdi Erdönmez came free, but Przemyslaw Gollob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Merengues were awarded a corner. Stefan Neagu went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Merengues booed when Old Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miroslaw Grocholski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Przemyslaw Gollob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehdi Erdönmez in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Zachary Kaczeniak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Przemyslaw Gollob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Przemyslaw Gollob showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehdi Erdönmez, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merengues's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Gollob, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute Mehdi Erdönmez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Przemyslaw Gollob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Old Star's goalkeeper Rafal Niedziela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Melvin Gulpen hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Stefan Neagu made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Merengues's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Gollob had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miroslaw Grocholski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehdi Erdönmez in the 55th minute of play forced Merengues's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Gollob to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boguslaw Mazierski in the 57th minute of play forced Old Star's goalkeeper Rafal Niedziela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boguslaw Mazierski in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafal Niedziela saved Old Star from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Neagu in the 59th minute of play forced Old Star's goalkeeper Rafal Niedziela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Przemyslaw Gollob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehdi Erdönmez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Old Star's Zachary Kaczeniak got a free kick in the 68th minute. Ziemowit Dzierwa struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Rafal Niedziela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merengues. After having played for 72 minutes, Marek Sala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merengues's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marek Sala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Merengues's Olaf Dombrowski got his second yellow card of the match in the 75th minute. The referee ordered Olaf Dombrowski off the ground. Roman Wysocki hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Merengues's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Gollob had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miroslaw Grocholski. Przemyslaw Gollob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehdi Erdönmez in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Merengues's Melvin Gulpen seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Melvin Gulpen the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Merengues protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Melvin Gulpen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Old Star a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roman Wysocki, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Merengues's Przemyslaw Gollob. 1-3. Miroslaw Grocholski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Przemyslaw Gollob tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miroslaw Grocholski got free with Przemyslaw Gollob in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Przemyslaw Gollob was a little too slow when Mehdi Erdönmez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 99th minute. The score was now 1-4. Old Star's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
