Radomil Golota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Jarocewicz having to interfere. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when KS Ruda Slaska was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szczepan Skrzypiec didn't get a good kick on the ball. GKS Katowice's Radomil Golota got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Szczepan Skrzypiec's late challenge caught a GKS Katowice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szczepan Skrzypiec helped the player get up and apologised. Szczepan Skrzypiec hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Olgierd Mosiniak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Leonard Modliszewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when KS Ruda Slaska was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 35thth minute of the game Radomil Golota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KS Ruda Slaska's Gilbert Jarocewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leszek Czeszejko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benedykt Czeberowski. GKS Katowice's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, GKS Katowice's goal looked a bit too open when Czeslaw Moryl came free, but Benedykt Czeberowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to GKS Katowice getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Olgierd Orszak hit a great ball. Gilbert Jarocewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Modliszewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maciej Grucza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Maciej Grucza took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Benedykt Czeberowski to make any attempt to save it. Szczepan Skrzypiec hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Leonard Modliszewski struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Gilbert Jarocewicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS Katowice. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. After a defensive mix-up in KS Ruda Slaska's zone, Radomil Golota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Jarocewicz came out of the goal and Radomil Golota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Szczepan Kaczorowski's late challenge caught a GKS Katowice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szczepan Kaczorowski helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to KS Ruda Slaska getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Szczepan Kaczorowski hit a great ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Czeslaw Sokolski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GKS Katowice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Czeslaw Sokolski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GKS Katowice's Benedykt Czeberowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save GKS Katowice from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Radomil Golota sped through KS Ruda Slaska's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilbert Jarocewicz. Czeslaw Sokolski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Olgierd Orszak came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the GKS Katowice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olgierd Orszak couldn't finish the play. If Radomil Golota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, GKS Katowice failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
