After a rather tough play, Grommels SSA's Dawid Giejda got a free kick in the 36th minute. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Slawomir Hajduk took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Przemyslaw Dembkowski to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute Czeslaw Bierfass shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radomir Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slawomir Hajduk in the 47th minute of play forced Grommels SSA's goalkeeper Przemyslaw Dembkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Slawomir Hajduk couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute of the match Olaf Chodzinski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Przemyslaw Dembkowski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Grommels SSA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
