Lech Kluczyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zbigniew Wojtkiewicz in the 24th minute of the match. Arkadiusz Pionek's late challenge caught a Stal Mielec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Wisła Kraków's goal looked a bit too open when Zbigniew Wojtkiewicz came free, but Lech Kluczyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stal Mielec were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Wisła Kraków's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Damian Modliszewski took the corner. Sylwester Cetnar tried in the 50th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Lech Kluczyk a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After recieving a nice pass, Wisła Kraków's Jaroslaw Niemojewski tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Stal Mielec's Kacper Modliszewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Barys in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Barys in the 68th minute of play forced Stal Mielec's goalkeeper Kacper Modliszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Piotr Bucyki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kacper Modliszewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Barys in the 72nd minute. When Zbigniew Wojtkiewicz came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Stal Mielec fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Barys in the 89th minute of play forced Stal Mielec's goalkeeper Kacper Modliszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 98 minutes into the game, Aureliusz Pietrasz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wisła Kraków's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stal Mielec the free kick. Przemyslaw Spychalski didn't quite understand what happened when in the 100 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet.
