In the 8th minute, Napoli's Tymoteusz Pyrtek seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tymoteusz Pyrtek the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Napoli protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tymoteusz Pyrtek had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Ponin a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lucjan Furgal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Napoli's Artur Wojtyna. 1-0. After having played for 13 minutes, Zbyszko Zachemski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Napoli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zbyszko Zachemski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 minutes, Emil Oborski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponin and the Napoli players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Ponin's zone, Feliks Ptaszek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Izydor Olejniczak came out of the goal and Feliks Ptaszek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Napoli getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Feliks Ptaszek hit a great ball. 34 minutes in the game, Igor Mojsiewicz dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Artur Wojtyna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pawel Sidorowicz's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute, Ponin's Pawel Sidorowicz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Wojtyna. Artur Wojtyna yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Radowit Karanowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, Napoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszko Zachemski to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute Pawel Sidorowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Wojtyna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artur Wojtyna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pawel Sidorowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artur Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Mojsiewicz in the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Zbyszko Zachemski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Napoli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponin the free kick. The supporters of Ponin booed when Napoli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbyszko Zachemski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wincenty Czeszyk struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Izydor Olejniczak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napoli. Igor Mojsiewicz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artur Wojtyna having to make a save. If Pawel Sidorowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ponin had played much better football throughout.
