After having played for 3 minutes, Boleslaw Borowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruch Chorzów's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boleslaw Borowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aureliusz Paprotny made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Mariusz Lanczak sent off a good shot on target. After 12 played minutes Ruch Chorzów got a freekick which was hit by Mariusz Lanczak. 13 minutes into the match, Kornelki Lublin's goal looked a bit too open when Boleslaw Borowski came free, but Aureliusz Paprotny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Aureliusz Paprotny managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Ruch Chorzów's Mariusz Lanczak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aureliusz Paprotny was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Boleslaw Borowski showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Mariusz Lanczak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureliusz Paprotny having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Boleslaw Borowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 32 minutes, Zdzislaw Lodowy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ruch Chorzów and the Kornelki Lublin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Zdzislaw Lodowy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Kornelki Lublin's Aureliusz Paprotny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boleslaw Borowski in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ruch Chorzów's Jakub Jerzyk got a free kick in the 56th minute. Boleslaw Borowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliusz Paprotny having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Kornelki Lublin's Adam Drebit got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Lanczak in the 60th minute of play forced Kornelki Lublin's goalkeeper Aureliusz Paprotny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adam Drebit helped the player get up and apologised. Mariusz Lanczak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boleslaw Borowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Aureliusz Paprotny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ruch Chorzów's goalkeeper Czeslaw Zacharzewski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 81st match minute, Ruch Chorzów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaw Kazczyk to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Kornelki Lublin's goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Lanczak came free, but Aureliusz Paprotny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boleslaw Borowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aureliusz Paprotny read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stasio Skrzypiec during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stasio Skrzypiec hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
