In the 25th minute, Wit Chodzinski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Roch Nakonieczny fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Haka Łódź's protests and gave Roch Nakonieczny a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to New Haka Łódź getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Waldemar Scigan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Waldemar Scigan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konrad Rostow in the 60th minute of play. If Wit Chodzinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute.
