In the 18th match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrzej Galus to maneuver through the defense. Szymon Kolbe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomasz Nowacki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. But to his dismay, Grzegorz Furgat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The long shot by Klement Arnista in the 31st minute really tested Emil Cymbal's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. FC Barcelona's Tomasz Nowacki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobromir Klocko in the 36th minute of play. Szymon Kolbe struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Tomasz Nowacki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hope Dies Last. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barcelona's zone, Izydor Czerny stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomasz Nowacki came out of the goal and Izydor Czerny tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jaroslaw Golob made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Grzegorz Haskiewicz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Barcelona and the Hope Dies Last players grew even worse after the yellow card. Grzegorz Haskiewicz hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The supporters of Hope Dies Last booed when FC Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grzegorz Haskiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Jaroslaw Golob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hope Dies Last's Szymon Kolbe got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ryszard Jaszynski kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Hope Dies Last's Grzegorz Furgat broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tomasz Nowacki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Izydor Czerny in the 88th minute. Andrzej Galus might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emil Cymbal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
