When the match had been going on for 5 minutes, Iskra Opole's Lukasz Buczko got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Zenon Urban. After a defensive mix-up in Kosnowiec SSA's zone, Aleksander Ikalewicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenon Urban came out of the goal and Aleksander Ikalewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleksander Ikalewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Zenon Urban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zenon Urban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kazimierz Malik in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Cezary Dziewedik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Lerych saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Cezary Dziewedik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kosnowiec SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cezary Dziewedik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cezary Dziewedik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st match minute, Kosnowiec SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kajetan Filipkowski to maneuver through the defense. Kosnowiec SSA's Zenon Urban proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Kosnowiec SSA from getting a goal against them. Boruc Dziechciowski kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kazimierz Malik in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zenon Urban prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zenon Urban made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kazimierz Malik in the 35th minute of play. Ludomir Fabiszak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Cezary Dziewedik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kosnowiec SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cezary Dziewedik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iskra Opole's goalkeeper Roland Lerych, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cezary Dziewedik was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimierz Malik in the 53rd minute of play forced Kosnowiec SSA's goalkeeper Zenon Urban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Kazimierz Malik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Urban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aleksander Ikalewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kosnowiec SSA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kazimierz Malik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Cezary Dziewedik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Roland Lerych tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Boruc Dziechciowski fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kosnowiec SSA's protests and gave Boruc Dziechciowski a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Kosnowiec SSA got a freekick which was hit by Boruc Dziechciowski. Aleksander Ikalewicz might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zenon Urban. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aleksander Ikalewicz ran back to his position shaking his head. Tymoteusz Adamus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kosnowiec SSA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
