Artur Sitko was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Slawomir Prusinowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Przemyslaw Naskrent recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ryszard Gierlach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rafal Giejda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zielone Słonie's Ryszard Gierlach got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Przemyslaw Naskrent got free with Zenon Radzyminski in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Plucinik during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Orlen City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Plucinik to maneuver through the defense. Przemyslaw Naskrent was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Zielone Słonie's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryszard Gierlach made a kick off. A collision led to Orlen City getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Sebastian Wieczorek hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Zielone Słonie's Szczepan Czeberowski got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Rafal Giejda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orlen City's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafal Giejda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boruc Chlapowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafal Giejda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Tymoteusz Majczyk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orlen City and the Zielone Słonie players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Zielone Słonie booed when Orlen City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tymoteusz Majczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zenon Radzyminski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Przemyslaw Naskrent, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Przemyslaw Naskrent managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zielone Słonie's supporters rose to their feet, but Przemyslaw Naskrent was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zenon Radzyminski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Orlen City's Rafal Giejda slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Boruc Chlapowski. That made the score 2-1 after 89 minutes of play. Orlen City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
