But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wlodzimierz Borcz couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Kostrza SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Glembin to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Friedrichshain's Wlodzimierz Olejarz threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wlodzimierz Borcz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jerzy Okopny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Jerzy Okopny made the kick off in the second half. Filip Glembin charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Jan Seliga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Friedrichshain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Seliga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
