In the 6th minute Tanek Wydrych shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zygmunt Zywiec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Miroslaw Fujara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 played minutes Griesen got a freekick which was hit by Marek Orling. In the 14th minute of the match Valencia CF got a corner. Griesen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kajetan Logewnik ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Kajetan Logewnik got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilbert Charamut quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gilbert Charamut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Pilarski in the 16th minute of play. Witalis Pruss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miroslaw Fujara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Zygmunt Zywiec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Pilarski in the 44th minute of play forced Griesen's goalkeeper Gilbert Charamut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Pilarski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilbert Charamut read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tanek Wydrych was the one to do the kick off. Zygmunt Zywiec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tanek Wydrych in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Tanek Wydrych got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 56 minutes into the match, Valencia CF's goal looked a bit too open when Miroslaw Fujara came free, but Zygmunt Zywiec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Charamut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witalis Pruss, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Witalis Pruss took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilbert Charamut. Gilbert Charamut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Ignacy Pierz hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Tanek Wydrych kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zygmunt Zywiec. That made the score 2-1 in the 69 minute of play. With a little luck, Valencia CF's Zygmunt Zywiec got control of the ball when Miroslaw Fujara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zygmunt Zywiec stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tanek Wydrych's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Miroslaw Fujara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Zygmunt Zywiec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Roland Skikiewicz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Griesen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia CF the free kick. A collision led to Griesen getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Roland Skikiewicz hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Griesen's goal looked a bit too open when Witalis Pruss came free, but Gilbert Charamut reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Miroslaw Fujara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Valencia CF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Griesen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
