Robert Lisewski's late challenge caught a Starogrod's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Lisewski helped the player get up and apologised. Starogrod's Rafal Juszkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucjan Niedzwiecki hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Pankracy Wojtowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Radzyminski in the 15th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Zdzislaw Radzyminski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LechPoznan's Pankracy Wojtowicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 17 played minutes LechPoznan got a freekick which was hit by Maciej Glaza. Rafal Juszkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Wojtowicz having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, LechPoznan's goal looked a bit too open when Rafal Juszkowski came free, but Pankracy Wojtowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tadeusz Kisiel had several of the Starogrod's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ziemowit Sliwinski as he didn't even see the shot coming. Sylwester Charamut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sylwester Charamut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ziemowit Sliwinski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeusz Kisiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sylwester Charamut who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Ziemowit Sliwinski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of LechPoznan booed when Starogrod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbyszko Gmoch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 42 played minutes LechPoznan got a freekick which was hit by Robert Lisewski. 43 minutes into the game, Starogrod's Rafal Juszkowski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pankracy Wojtowicz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.
