If Iwan Szkaradek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Wisła Kraków's zone, Igor Wolnik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hieronim Cupial came out of the goal and Igor Wolnik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Tadeusz Fafinski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Osiedle Zaczernie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeusz Fafinski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Igor Wolnik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hieronim Cupial having to interfere. With a little luck, Osiedle Zaczernie's Dariusz Frankowski got control of the ball when Iwan Szkaradek tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hieronim Cupial showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Wolnik, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Helmuth Kronriis during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Osiedle Zaczernie booed when Wisła Kraków was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helmuth Kronriis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Andrzej Wrzosek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hieronim Cupial skillfully saved the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
