Teobald Nuszkowski came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Fjorentina's Bartlomiej Tepper. But to his dismay, Bartlomiej Tepper quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bartlomiej Tepper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Fjorentina getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rafal Pasterski hit a great ball. If Konstanty Felenak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. Teobald Nuszkowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fjorentina. When Benedykt Chazon came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Fjorentina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedykt Chazon couldn't finish the play. After the first half Fjorentina were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Krzysztof Jarocewicz was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
