But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michal Sowa couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michal Sowa got free with Marian Majkowski in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Witynie's Andrzej Jazwiec slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marian Majkowski. That made the score 1-0 after 48 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ryszard Barowicz made a kick off.
