The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. MKS GÓRNIK LUBIN's Waclaw Tarka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waclaw Serwacki in the 4th minute of play. Waclaw Tarka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Dudzik in the 6th minute. Edgar Dobrowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boleslaw Dres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Waldemar Wielkopolski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waclaw Serwacki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Waclaw Tarka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waclaw Serwacki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waclaw Tarka having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Emil Budzynski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MKS GÓRNIK LUBIN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emil Budzynski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waldemar Dudzik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Zbigniew Logewnik in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN's Bernard Janiczek. Waldemar Dudzik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Boleslaw Dres made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Szymon Andrychowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Dobrowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Nowakowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Edgar Dobrowski made a huge save. Sylwester Kalinowski hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Waldemar Dudzik struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Waclaw Tarka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN. In the 64th minute, Boleslaw Dres fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Edgar Dobrowski, passed just outside the right post. In the 65th match minute, ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sylwester Kalinowski to maneuver through the defense. Jerzy Gaszynski charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerzy Gaszynski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jerzy Gaszynski hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Szymon Andrychowski in the 73rd minute of play forced ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN's goalkeeper Edgar Dobrowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ZAGLEBIE 3 LUBIN getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Edgar Lamczyk hit a great ball. In the 77th minute Waclaw Serwacki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waclaw Tarka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waclaw Tarka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Dudzik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waclaw Serwacki in the 79th minute of play forced MKS GÓRNIK LUBIN's goalkeeper Waclaw Tarka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waclaw Serwacki scored 1-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waclaw Tarka, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Waclaw Serwacki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Waclaw Tarka having to make a save. If Boleslaw Dres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MKS GÓRNIK LUBIN's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
