But to his dismay, Marian Frenzel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Zygmunt Konieczny might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jurand Skwira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zygmunt Konieczny ran back to his position shaking his head. Zygmunt Konieczny charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zygmunt Konieczny the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Stanislaw Literski made the kick off in the second half. Zygmunt Konieczny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marian Frenzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafal Bobrowski having to interfere. Dariusz Jerzyk's late challenge caught a Widzew łodz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dariusz Jerzyk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Dariusz Jerzyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Widzew łodz fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Anajewo a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Iwan Cytrynski, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Widzew łodz's Rafal Bobrowski. 3-0. Filip Rybak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Widzew łodz's Zygmunt Konieczny got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafal Bobrowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigiusz Rzentkowski in the 96th minute of the match. If Marian Frenzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anajewo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
