Jacek Dytrych didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bartosz Kiepski went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ryszard Lerych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogdan Brack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, POLONIA BYTOM's Borys Lemiesz got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Borys Lemiesz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. POLONIA BYTOM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Borys Lemiesz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Zagłębie Sosnowiec's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Gabis came free, but Jacek Dytrych reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacek Dytrych made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Kiepski in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Leon Gabis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacek Dytrych was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After some careless play in the Zagłębie Sosnowiec defense, Bartosz Kiepski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacek Dytrych. The Zagłębie Sosnowiec fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacek Dytrych should have stopped the shot. Jacek Dytrych showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Borys Lemiesz in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half POLONIA BYTOM were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bogdan Brack stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Zagłębie Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Tylinski. POLONIA BYTOM made a substitution. Hieronim Jaszcz replaced Juliusz Kociniewski. Mateusz Damazki did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-7 to the left of a surprised Jacek Dytrych 75 minutes into the match. After 79 minutes, Alfred Grabowicz made it 0-8 with a short kick to the right side. Zagłębie Sosnowiec's Jacek Dytrych tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfred Grabowicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute Borys Lemiesz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacek Dytrych saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Zagłębie Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Jacek Dytrych had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Grabowicz.
