The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tolek Giec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomir Karbowski in the 5th minute of play. Chlewiska SSAFC's Olaf Glembin managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Franciszek Drzewucki in the 6 minute of the game. In the 7th match minute, Chlewiska SSAFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radomir Karbowski to maneuver through the defense. Janusz Majtyka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maksymilian Bejger having to interfere. FC Karpaty Lwów's Tolek Giec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofil Narbut in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Olaf Glembin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolek Giec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, FC Karpaty Lwów's goal looked a bit too open when Teofil Narbut came free, but Tolek Giec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chlewiska SSAFC's Maksymilian Bejger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pawel Wojtkiewicz in the 14th minute of play. 22 minutes in the game Antoni Setara did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Janusz Majtyka. 25 minutes into the match, FC Karpaty Lwów's goal looked a bit too open when Wasyl Gabis came free, but Tolek Giec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tolek Giec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomir Karbowski in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Teofil Narbut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolek Giec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tolek Giec came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Chlewiska SSAFC's Wasyl Gabis. But to his dismay, Wasyl Gabis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 39 minutes of play, Chlewiska SSAFC's Teofil Narbut made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tolek Giec was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Radomir Karbowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chlewiska SSAFC and the FC Karpaty Lwów players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chlewiska SSAFC's Radomir Karbowski got a free kick in the 41st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Karpaty Lwów's Janusz Majtyka slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maksymilian Bejger. That made the score 1-2 after 43 minutes of play. Radomir Karbowski scored 1-3 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tolek Giec, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Janusz Majtyka made the kick off in the second half. If Radomir Karbowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radomir Karbowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Tolek Giec made a huge save. A collision led to FC Karpaty Lwów getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Antoni Setara hit a great ball. After 68 minutes of play, FC Karpaty Lwów's Janusz Majtyka made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maksymilian Bejger was left in no man's land by his defense there! 77 minutes into the match, FC Karpaty Lwów's goal looked a bit too open when Wasyl Gabis came free, but Tolek Giec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Chlewiska SSAFC's Olaf Glembin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tolek Giec. That made the score 2-4 after 80 minutes of play. In the 83rd minute, Chlewiska SSAFC's Radomir Karbowski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tolek Giec. Tolek Giec yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofil Narbut in the 86th minute of play forced FC Karpaty Lwów's goalkeeper Tolek Giec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Wasyl Gabis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, FC Karpaty Lwów's Tolek Giec got control of the ball when Radomir Karbowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, FC Karpaty Lwów's goal looked a bit too open when Wasyl Gabis came free, but Tolek Giec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Karpaty Lwów booed when Chlewiska SSAFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Glembin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Chlewiska SSAFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chlewiska SSAFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
