After 23 played minutes LIVERPOOL got a freekick which was hit by Remigiusz Owsiak. Leon Chludzinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigiusz Lerych in the 24th minute of play. Leon Chludzinski made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Robert Gabis sent off a good shot on target. Bogdan Maziarz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Miroslaw Brudzisz. Real Madryt's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Napoleon Zalipski's late challenge caught a Real Madryt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Napoleon Zalipski helped the player get up and apologised. Napoleon Zalipski kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes, Real Madryt's Olaf Sienkiewicz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leon Chludzinski came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Madryt reached it. After a rather tough play, LIVERPOOL's Stasio Furgat got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Walery Czubski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 41 played minutes Real Madryt got a freekick which was hit by Robert Gabis. Miroslaw Brudzisz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwan Damaski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grzegorz Rasiak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

LIVERPOOL were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Real Madryt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iwan Damaski took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Iwan Damaski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miroslaw Brudzisz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. LIVERPOOL's Leon Chludzinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grzegorz Rasiak in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Real Madryt's Robert Gabis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leon Chludzinski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in LIVERPOOL's zone, Remigiusz Lerych stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Chludzinski came out of the goal and Remigiusz Lerych tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stasio Furgat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute Robert Gabis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Chludzinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Chludzinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grzegorz Rasiak went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 84 minutes into the match, Real Madryt's goalkeeper Miroslaw Brudzisz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iwan Damaski. Leon Chludzinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert Gabis went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 95 minutes into the match, LIVERPOOL's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Gabis came free, but Leon Chludzinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
