Ajax Katowice's Tolek Pilarczyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswald Reutter in the 19th minute of play. Tolek Pilarczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswald Reutter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 played minutes Ajax Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Konrad Giejda. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ajax Katowice's goalkeeper Tolek Pilarczyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stanislaw Kapera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tolek Pilarczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tolek Pilarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswald Reutter in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ajax Katowice defense, Oswald Reutter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tolek Pilarczyk. The Ajax Katowice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tolek Pilarczyk should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wojciech Penkalski during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 32 minutes, Stanislaw Kapera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolverhampton Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanislaw Kapera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 minutes of play, Ajax Katowice's Konrad Fujara made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Radowit Wojtowicz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Jaroslaw Poteralski came free, but Radowit Wojtowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oswald Reutter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Wolverhampton Wanderers's Stanislaw Kapera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tolek Pilarczyk. That made the score 3-5 after 79 minutes of play. Stanislaw Kapera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tolek Pilarczyk having to make a save. Wojciech Trochowski charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wojciech Trochowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wolverhampton Wanderers played a much better game than Ajax Katowice and deserved their victory. The Ajax Katowice players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
