With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulryk Grocholski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wieslaw Brysz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tolek Cupial came out and tried to block the shot, but Wieslaw Brysz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 21st minute. 25 minutes in the game, Zbyszek Hludzenski fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tolek Cupial having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Krzysztof Wachna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tolek Cupial came out of the goal and Krzysztof Wachna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adam Treppa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Zbyszek Hludzenski charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Edmund Sanocki's late challenge caught a Zdroje SSA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmund Sanocki helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Edmund Sanocki hit a great ball. After 39 minutes, Rafal Szostak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zdroje SSA and the Chelsea FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Teobald Sebzda. After 43 played minutes, Zdroje SSA's Stefan Okropny shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tolek Cupial came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zdroje SSA reached it. Edmund Sanocki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulryk Grocholski having to interfere. The Zdroje SSA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chelsea FC were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wieslaw Brysz to strike the kick off in the second half. Zdroje SSA's Krzysztof Wachna got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Zdroje SSA booed when Chelsea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boleslaw Slazak didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chelsea FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
