With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leszek Cichocki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Teofil Rzegotka came free, but Leszek Cichocki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teofil Rzegotka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leszek Cichocki having to interfere. In the 35thth minute of the game Teofil Rzegotka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Leszek Cichocki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Teofil Rzegotka notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Barcelona's Leszek Cichocki. Leszek Cichocki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leszek Cichocki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abe Habenicht in the 41st minute of play. Leszek Cichocki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abe Habenicht in the 43rd minute of the match. The supporters of Śląsk Katowice booed when Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aureliusz Mentis didn't get a good kick on the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teofil Rzegotka made a kick off. In the 62ndth minute of the game Teofil Rzegotka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Leszek Cichocki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leszek Cichocki came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Śląsk Katowice's Abe Habenicht. But to his dismay, Abe Habenicht quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Śląsk Katowice made a substitution. Marek Bronicki replaced Teofil Rzegotka. In the 76th minute, Śląsk Katowice's Adelino Salgado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Adelino Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Leszek Cichocki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Śląsk Katowice's Antoni Walaszkiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boruc Gierlach in the 96th minute of play. Śląsk Katowice's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
