The audience thought a goal was coming when Artur Juchno got free with Jan Motyl in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Black Hołdunów were furious when Zenon Waselewicz was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 39 minutes into the game, one of Black Hołdunów:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Black Hołdunów:s Jan Motyl showed great skill when he stopped Eddie Majman:s penalty. KSF Racovia Częstochowa's Artur Juchno came free and shot a quick shot against goal 44 minutes in the game, fortunately Jan Motyl had problems saving as it came toward the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Chazen in the 45th minute of play forced KSF Racovia Częstochowa's goalkeeper Franciszek Wydrych to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olgierd Wojtowicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franciszek Wydrych having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Franciszek Wydrych showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Janusz Sanocki, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Franciszek Wydrych tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Black Hołdunów's Olgierd Wojtowicz, in the 63rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Black Hołdunów. Edward Chazen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Franciszek Wydrych when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jan Motyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Juchno in the 73rd minute of play. Artur Juchno scored 1-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan Motyl, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, KSF Racovia Częstochowa's Vasilis Kouklakis got a free kick in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Black Hołdunów's Edward Chazen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franciszek Wydrych narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Janusz Sanocki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Janusz Sanocki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute.
