The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eikje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maurafolket BK the free kick. Kristen Sørlie hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Eirik Thorvaldsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eivind Wangen having to interfere. Christer Aae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd play minute Christer Aae came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eivind Wangen. 1-0. Eivind Wangen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristen Sørlie in the 28th minute of the match. Christer Aae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Eivind Wangen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eikje's Eirik Thorvaldsen got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Maurafolket BK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eikje:s goal. Asbjørn Prytz placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Eivind Wangen made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Christer Aae sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Eivind Wangen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristen Sørlie in the 56th minute of play. When Eikje's Christer Aae in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maurafolket BK's goalie prevented a goal. Hans-Martin Rusten's late challenge caught a Eikje's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans-Martin Rusten helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Eikje booed when Maurafolket BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans-Martin Rusten didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee gave Eikje a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Asbjørn Prytz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maurafolket BK's Eivind Wangen. 3-0. After some careless play in the Eikje defense, Max Poulsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gjøran Espeseth. The Eikje fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gjøran Espeseth should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Eirik Thorvaldsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eivind Wangen was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Eikje's Eirik Thorvaldsen got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Maurafolket BK's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Aae came free, but Eivind Wangen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eirik Thorvaldsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Max Poulsen succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 99th playminute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Eikje fully deserved thier win.
