The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Riksem booed when Swag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Smedsrud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thor Aspelund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fridtjof Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Swag's goalkeeper Kyrre Tunheim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reidar Rødseth. Torgeir Bjørnevik's late challenge caught a Swag's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torgeir Bjørnevik helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, Riksem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torgeir Bjørnevik to maneuver through the defense. Thor Aspelund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Snorre Blomberg in the 13th minute of the match. Fridtjof Leite scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thor Aspelund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute, Fredrik Reed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reidar Rødseth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Swag's Max Smedsrud got a free kick in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Riksem's goal looked a bit too open when Fridtjof Leite came free, but Thor Aspelund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Swag's Fridtjof Leite sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thor Aspelund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fridtjof Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Thor Aspelund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Riksem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Sinnes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Snorre Blomberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Swag's supporters rose to their feet, but Snorre Blomberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thor Aspelund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felix Nyquist to make the kick off. If Felix Nyquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Nyquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyrre Tunheim having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Nyquist in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kyrre Tunheim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felix Nyquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 minutes, Fridtjof Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Swag and the Riksem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Swag's Fridtjof Leite got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Riksem's zone, Snorre Blomberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thor Aspelund came out of the goal and Snorre Blomberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reidar Rødseth in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kyrre Tunheim saved Swag from getting behind. Fridtjof Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thor Aspelund having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
