To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Oppsal Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Nevland came free, but Albert Bjørk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eidsberg's Ingvar Hov got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eidsberg's Ingvar Hov in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Erik Nevland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Bjørk having to interfere. Nikolai Strand made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Jørn Melbye sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After some careless play in the Eidsberg defense, Jørn Melbye kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nikolai Strand. The Eidsberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikolai Strand should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute, Jørn Melbye got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 61 played minutes Eidsberg got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Haug. The audience held their breath when Dan Buan in the 63rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Nikolai Strand's left hand side. If Erik Nevland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John-Einar Svanes charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed John-Einar Svanes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. John-Einar Svanes hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Dan Buan, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Magne Flatmo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikolai Strand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Oppsal Rovers's Albert Bjørk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Hov in the 89th minute of play. Peter Strandberg charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
