The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Gulsvik IF got a freekick which was hit by Tormod Lund. Joakim Dahlstrøm was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bjørnar Kleveland showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Daniel Willumsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Morten Benjaminsen having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Bjørnar Kleveland rounded Brydalen IL's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. After having played for 16 minutes, Daniel Willumsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brydalen IL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Willumsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arthur Vestli charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arthur Vestli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Gulsvik IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Vestli to maneuver through the defense. Oddbjørn Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joakim Dahlstrøm having to interfere. Olof Skar kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Tormod Lund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. Brydalen IL's Joakim Dahlstrøm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Høydahl in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Daniel Willumsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Morten Benjaminsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tormod Lund hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Oddbjørn Persson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Joakim Dahlstrøm made a huge save. 45 minutes into the match, Brydalen IL's Frode Vårdal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Morten Benjaminsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brydalen IL's Laurits Ismail couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gulsvik IF. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Oddbjørn Persson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Morten Benjaminsen came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Brydalen IL's Daniel Willumsen. But to his dismay, Daniel Willumsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Brydalen IL's zone, Oddbjørn Persson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joakim Dahlstrøm came out of the goal and Oddbjørn Persson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Gulsvik IF's Oddbjørn Persson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joakim Dahlstrøm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christian Bjørnø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joakim Dahlstrøm having to interfere. Gulsvik IF had played much better football throughout.
