With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erland Midtun in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tor-Ivar Hella saved Ekra FF from getting behind. Christer Oftedal's late challenge caught a Melsbø's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christer Oftedal helped the player get up and apologised. Christer Oftedal hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Gunnar Hansen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Dahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bendik Hognestad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gunnar Hansen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bendik Hognestad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Melsbø's Peder Urdal got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Bendik Hognestad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Melsbø's Felix Dahl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tor-Ivar Hella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Krog in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Erland Midtun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melsbø's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erland Midtun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute of the match Endre Hidle shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tor-Ivar Hella showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 39th minute, Melsbø's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gunnar Hansen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tor-Ivar Hella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erland Midtun, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bendik Hognestad made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Ekra FF got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Stokkan. In the 55th minute, Mathias Krogh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bendik Hognestad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Dahl having to interfere. In the 69th minute Erland Midtun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor-Ivar Hella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Dahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Hansen in the 76th minute of play. Halvard Baardsen hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When Marius Fjeldberg fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melsbø's protests and gave Marius Fjeldberg a yellow card for diving instead. With an all-out effort, Melsbø's Tor-Ivar Hella threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erland Midtun, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Christian Krog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tor-Ivar Hella having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Tor-Ivar Hella successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Krog got free with Tor-Ivar Hella in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruben Stokkan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
