Spectators: 7541 (Terracing: 5695, Seating: 1746, VIP seats: 100) Kolbulia IF's Ivar Leira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Kolbulia IF's Terje Grønlie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Søren Åsebø narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th minute Ingar Rørstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Idar Lilleeng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes Kolbulia IF got a freekick which was hit by Albert Skjørestad. Kent-Are Naustdal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Idar Lilleeng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Idar Lilleeng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingar Rørstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Terje Grønlie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Søren Åsebø when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 24th match minute, Karmøy FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steinar Lian to maneuver through the defense. Ivar Leira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Søren Åsebø tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Karmøy FK got a freekick which was hit by Philip Selstad. Kent-Are Naustdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idar Lilleeng having to interfere. Idar Lilleeng stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingar Rørstad's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kent-Are Naustdal to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Ivar Leira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kolbulia IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivar Leira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Ivar Leira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Søren Åsebø was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Rasmus Wessel's late challenge caught a Kolbulia IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rasmus Wessel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kolbulia IF booed when Karmøy FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Wessel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 68 played minutes Kolbulia IF got a freekick which was hit by Jens Seland. After 75 played minutes Karmøy FK got a freekick which was hit by Philip Selstad. Idar Lilleeng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent-Are Naustdal in the 78th minute of play. Kent-Are Naustdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idar Lilleeng having to interfere. Ingar Rørstad struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Idar Lilleeng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karmøy FK. When Ingar Rørstad came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Karmøy FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingar Rørstad couldn't finish the play. Jens Seland hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Idar Lilleeng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent-Are Naustdal in the 96th minute of the match. Karmøy FK were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
