Spectators: 6741 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1741, VIP seats: 0) Øvre Årdal's Martin Stålesen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karmøy FK's Søren Åsebø played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oddvar Fagerli in the 3rd minute of play. When Ingar Rørstad came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Karmøy FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingar Rørstad couldn't finish the play. Ingar Rørstad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Christer Vestby made a huge save. Øvre Årdal's Christer Vestby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent-Are Naustdal in the 9th minute of play. Kent-Are Naustdal took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christer Vestby. Christer Vestby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Philip Selstad hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 20 played minutes, Øvre Årdal's Kim-André Nordal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Søren Åsebø came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Øvre Årdal reached it. Rasmus Wessel kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Martin Stålesen spun around in front of the goal 23 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Karmøy FK's goal. Ingar Rørstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd match minute, Øvre Årdal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kim-André Nordal to maneuver through the defense. Søren Åsebø showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Stålesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Ingar Rørstad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingar Rørstad blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christer Vestby having to make a save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kent-Are Naustdal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ingar Rørstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christer Vestby came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Karmøy FK's Ingar Rørstad. But to his dismay, Ingar Rørstad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Martin Stålesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Søren Åsebø didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oddvar Fagerli went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingar Rørstad in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christer Vestby saved Øvre Årdal from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Karmøy FK's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Stålesen came free, but Søren Åsebø reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Oddvar Fagerli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Øvre Årdal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oddvar Fagerli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Martin Stålesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Martin Stålesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Søren Åsebø saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Søren Åsebø made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Stålesen in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Philip Selstad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Martin Stålesen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Søren Åsebø, passed just outside the right post.
