Karmøy FK's Søren Åsebø played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Leira in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Kolbulia IF booed when Karmøy FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Truls Hovden didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Jens Seland shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Søren Åsebø showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Terje Grønlie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Kolbulia IF booed when Karmøy FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Wessel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Terje Grønlie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ingar Rørstad, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 27 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Idar Lilleeng was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Karmøy FK's zone, Ivar Leira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Søren Åsebø came out of the goal and Ivar Leira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Ivar Leira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Karmøy FK's Søren Åsebø. Søren Åsebø was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 37 minutes, Terje Grønlie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kolbulia IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terje Grønlie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Kolbulia IF booed when Karmøy FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trond Hårstad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kent-Are Naustdal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Idar Lilleeng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kolbulia IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Rasmus Wessel scored to the left of an out of position Idar Lilleeng, making the score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kent-Are Naustdal was the one to do the kick off. After 58 played minutes Kolbulia IF got a freekick which was hit by Bendik Stava. In the 64th play minute Terje Grønlie came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Søren Åsebø. 1-2. Ingar Rørstad struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Idar Lilleeng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karmøy FK. Søren Åsebø took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivar Leira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Idar Lilleeng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent-Are Naustdal, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Ingar Rørstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idar Lilleeng having to interfere. When Albert Skjørestad fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kolbulia IF's protests and gave Albert Skjørestad a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Kolbulia IF got a freekick which was hit by Albert Skjørestad. If Ingar Rørstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kolbulia IF's Idar Lilleeng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingar Rørstad in the 87th minute of play. Søren Åsebø took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivar Leira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Karmøy FK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kolbulia IF's performance. The match ended with a win for Kolbulia IF.
