Spectators: 6942 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 10) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edvard Mydland took the kick off in the first half of the match. Christer Lassen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Mydland in the 4th minute of play. Espen Naustdal kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Wilhelm Tvedt made a precise shot to the right of Kim Hopland. Grubben IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Grubben IF's Gjermund Høines sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christer Lassen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The goalkeeper, Christer Lassen, was totally fooled by Grubben IF's Arild Thorsrud, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Grubben IF's Edvard Mydland slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Christer Lassen. That made the score 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. Christer Lassen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gjermund Høines in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Edvard Mydland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Mårnes Goalkeeping's goal looked a bit too open when Edvard Mydland came free, but Christer Lassen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Terje Furnes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edvard Mydland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 played minutes Mårnes Goalkeeping got a freekick which was hit by Yngvar Skavhaug. If Edvard Mydland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Grubben IF's Kristian Ottosen got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 55th minute, Trond Wolden reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kim Hopland. The goal made the score 2-2. Hans-Kristian Muller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Hopland having to interfere. Mårnes Goalkeeping's Hans-Kristian Muller got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Mårnes Goalkeeping's Hans-Kristian Muller ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kim Hopland. Kim Hopland yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Hans-Kristian Muller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Hopland having to interfere. Edvard Mydland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Lassen having to interfere. If Gjermund Høines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trond Wolden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Hopland having to interfere. Edvard Mydland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christer Lassen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Mårnes Goalkeeping played a much better game than Grubben IF and deserved their victory. The Grubben IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
