After 37 minutes, Odin Haugen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sjørbotn and the Lafjord players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ola Øiseth hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Sølvberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Egil Sørland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ole Sjøvold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas Kind's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Lafjord's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Ola Øiseth scored to the left of an out of position Kristian Morland, making the score, 2-1. When Lafjord's Thomas Kind in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sjørbotn's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sjørbotn's zone, Stian Sveen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ole Sjøvold came out of the goal and Stian Sveen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ole Sjøvold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thomas Kind's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After 86 played minutes, Lafjord's Egil Sørland shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ole Sjøvold came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lafjord reached it. In the 87thth minute of the game Storm Villanger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sjørbotn's Ole Sjøvold was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Storm Villanger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lafjord fully deserved thier win.
