When Even Øverli fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Innstranden IL's protests and gave Even Øverli a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Varna booed when Innstranden IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Even Øverli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Varna's Joar Samuelsen got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alan Meier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johannes Mellem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Nordal in the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Nordal in the 12th minute of play forced Innstranden IL's goalkeeper Johannes Mellem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Nordal kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Hans Aarset fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Lomeland having to interfere. Johannes Mellem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Øivind Sandaker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Innstranden IL's goalkeeper Johannes Mellem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kai-Arne Mydland. Johannes Mellem didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kai-Arne Mydland went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Johannes Mellem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kai-Arne Mydland in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Innstranden IL getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jonathan Solbakken hit a great ball. Even Øverli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Innstranden IL's zone, Thomas Nordal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johannes Mellem came out of the goal and Thomas Nordal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Nordal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thomas Nordal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 63 minutes, Thomas Nordal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Nordal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johannes Mellem came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Varna's Thomas Nordal. But to his dismay, Thomas Nordal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Johannes Mellem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Nordal in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Innstranden IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Even Øverli to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute of the match Fridtjof Øvrum shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johannes Mellem showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Johannes Mellem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Nordal in the 76th minute of the match. When Thomas Nordal came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Varna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Nordal couldn't finish the play. Kai-Arne Mydland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Mellem having to interfere. Even Øverli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julius Lomeland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Johannes Mellem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai-Arne Mydland, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 96 minutes, Øivind Sandaker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varna and the Innstranden IL players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute, Øivind Sandaker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Innstranden IL players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Varna.
