Henrik Hidle had several of the The Wave FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Espen Nordeng as he didn't even see the shot coming. Remi Bragstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, The Wave FC's Remi Bragstad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nikolai Sem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Henrik Hidle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jon-Egil Heggdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Espen Nordeng having to interfere. If Henrik Hidle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Remi Bragstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Rune Hindenes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nikolai Sem was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In a very dangerous position, a player in Heia Start fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Nikolai Sem didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Remi Bragstad went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 66 played minutes, Heia Start's Harald Bergstrøm shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Espen Nordeng came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heia Start reached it. In the 69th minute of the match Heia Start got a corner. The Wave FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Morten Sirevåg ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Morten Sirevåg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but The Wave FC's Espen Nordeng did a great save. The supporters of Heia Start booed when The Wave FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remi Bragstad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Espen Nordeng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Hidle in the 78th minute of play. Nikolai Sem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Hindenes, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Remi Bragstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Remi Bragstad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Wave FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remi Bragstad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Hindenes in the 91st minute of play forced Heia Start's goalkeeper Nikolai Sem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Wave FC's Remi Bragstad got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Espen Nordeng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Hidle in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded The Wave FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Heia Start.
