The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexander Knutsen came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by HOLTER FK's Knut Pettersen. But to his dismay, Knut Pettersen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 7 played minutes HOLTER FK got a freekick which was hit by Magnus Hovde. Alexander Knutsen made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Knut Pettersen sent off a good shot on target. After 22 played minutes, Jan Mayen FK's Sigurd Kjerstad shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mats Wisløff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jan Mayen FK reached it. In the 25th minute, Knut Pettersen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexander Knutsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 31st minute, Magnus Hovde fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Runar Jonsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Wisløff having to interfere. With his leg Alexander Knutsen managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when HOLTER FK's Knut Pettersen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Steinar Dramstad made a kick off. In the 56th minute Birger Rong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Knutsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute Knut Pettersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Knutsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tord Alvær lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Birger Stadheim struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Mats Wisløff didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jan Mayen FK. After a defensive mix-up in Jan Mayen FK's zone, Birger Rong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Knutsen came out of the goal and Birger Rong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexander Knutsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Selmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mats Wisløff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steinar Dramstad's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. If Magnus Hovde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 played minutes Jan Mayen FK got a freekick which was hit by Morten Anthonsen. Magnus Hovde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Knutsen having to interfere. Magnus Hovde struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Alexander Knutsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HOLTER FK. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. HOLTER FK fully deserved thier win.
