Spectators: 6716 (Terracing: 5716, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Henning Lassen took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Rustad IF's goalkeeper Jørn Gabrielsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christer Risvik. Rustad IF's Endre Haukaas got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Stav in the 13th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Martin Granly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Kim Stav's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Granly was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. When Endre Haukaas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 15 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Martin Granly was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Martin Granly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Endre Haukaas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Endre Haukaas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kim Stav's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Granly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Endre Haukaas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Granly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jørn Gabrielsen made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Christer Risvik sent off a good shot on target. After 34 minutes, Bastian Iversen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liverpool and the Rustad IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th minute, Bastian Iversen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led Rustad IF's Jon-Erik Fjellstad to fire away a dangerous shot which Martin Granly despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 41st minute Henning Lassen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jørn Gabrielsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Endre Haukaas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Granly having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Stav in the 46th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Martin Granly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Endre Haukaas made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Rustad IF booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Nilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Granly made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kim Stav in the 52nd minute. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Christer Risvik sped through Rustad IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jørn Gabrielsen. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Liverpool. Kenneth Moss stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jørn Gabrielsen. 2-0. After recieving a nice pass, Liverpool's Kenneth Moss tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Jørn Gabrielsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Lassen in the 70th minute of the match. Endre Haukaas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Martin Granly 74 minutes into the match. Endre Haukaas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jørn Gabrielsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christer Risvik, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rustad IF's goalkeeper Jørn Gabrielsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd match minute, Rustad IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Halvor Alexandersen to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute of the match, Halvor Alexandersen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Martin Granly saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Liverpool's Christer Risvik in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rustad IF's goalie prevented a goal. Christer Risvik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenneth Moss's late challenge caught a Rustad IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenneth Moss helped the player get up and apologised. Kenneth Moss kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Jon-Erik Fjellstad, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bastian Iversen was shown his second yellow card after 97 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Bastian Iversen hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Rustad IF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
