The referee ignored Ekeberg's protests and gave Sebastian Kjelsberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ekeberg getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Sebastian Kjelsberg hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tim Ring in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joachim Remme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hans-Kristian Smistad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils Marstein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jimmy Bryhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tor-Arne Dahl kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 40th minute Nils Marstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Kristian Smistad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alan Mong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Anton Daae fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tim Ring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Remme having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Nils Marstein made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jimmy Bryhn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ekeberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Jimmy Bryhn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans-Kristian Smistad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alan Mong fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norwegian Bulldog Team's protests and gave Alan Mong a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Alan Mong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 minutes of play Norwegian Bulldog Team's Daniel Flatebø was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Ring in the 57th minute of play forced Ekeberg's goalkeeper Joachim Remme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Jimmy Bryhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils Marstein couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute Nils Marstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Kristian Smistad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Norwegian Bulldog Team's zone, Jimmy Bryhn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans-Kristian Smistad came out of the goal and Jimmy Bryhn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The long shot by Adam Moltu in the 83rd minute really tested Hans-Kristian Smistad's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ekeberg's Joachim Remme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Ring in the 86th minute of play. The Norwegian Bulldog Team fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Norwegian Bulldog Team's Tim Ring looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 94 minutes into the game, Nils Marstein was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
