The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trønderlag Vikings's goalkeeper Kristen Flem, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Theodor Brekka hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Erik Schanche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Ryeng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiberiu Negoescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kristen Flem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiberiu Negoescu ran back to his position shaking his head. Tim Ryeng made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Simen Askildsen sent off a good shot on target. In the 25th minute Dagfinn Børseth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Ryeng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tim Ryeng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sellæg in the 33rd minute of play. Bjarne Aarset kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Tim Ryeng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Sellæg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Liljedal getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Lucas Abel hit a great ball. Tiberiu Negoescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Trønderlag Vikings's goalkeeper Kristen Flem, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Liljedal's Tiberiu Negoescu got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

If Tiberiu Negoescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Birk Nordlund in the 62nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Bjarne Aarset came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Liljedal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bjarne Aarset couldn't finish the play. Birk Nordlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Kristen Flem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birk Nordlund in the 94th minute of play forced Trønderlag Vikings's goalkeeper Kristen Flem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christer Vollen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
