Daniel Sellæg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Grøndahl having to interfere. Jo Grøndahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simen Askildsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Erik Schanche had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jo Grøndahl. Dybvåg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erik Schanche was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Daniel Sellæg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trønderlag Vikings's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Sellæg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jo Grøndahl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Sellæg's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. With a little luck, Trønderlag Vikings's Kristen Flem got control of the ball when Daniel Flo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Sellæg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Grøndahl having to interfere. When Daniel Sellæg, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jo Grøndahl was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Lars Røyset came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Dybvåg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars Røyset couldn't finish the play. If Lars Røyset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes Dybvåg got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Flo. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dybvåg's goalkeeper Jo Grøndahl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Arnt Ågotnes fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trønderlag Vikings's protests and gave Arnt Ågotnes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Dybvåg booed when Trønderlag Vikings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnt Ågotnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kristen Flem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Flo in the 58th minute of the match. Daniel Sellæg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Grøndahl having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Simen Askildsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Sellæg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jo Grøndahl made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Dybvåg's Håkon Anderson got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Kristen Flem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Flo in the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Daniel Sellæg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trønderlag Vikings's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Sellæg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jo Grøndahl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lars Røyset received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Kristen Flem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Dybvåg's Jo Grøndahl got control of the ball when Simen Askildsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tim Refsland hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Flo in the 84th minute of play forced Trønderlag Vikings's goalkeeper Kristen Flem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Trønderlag Vikings's zone, Daniel Flo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristen Flem came out of the goal and Daniel Flo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lars Røyset struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Kristen Flem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dybvåg. Daniel Flo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Trønderlag Vikings walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
