When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Marius Midthun took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Kim Engelstad to make any attempt to save it. Kim Engelstad made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Bård Bull sent off a good shot on target. Vetle Nordeng didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frode Lægreid went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Vetle Nordeng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ole-Einar Claussen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bård Bull scored 2-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kim Engelstad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 3-1 became the score in the 26th minute when Marius Midthun elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, Polarbears's Kim Engelstad got control of the ball when Bård Bull tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kim Engelstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marius Midthun, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Godset's Tor-Ivar Syvertsen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kim Engelstad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Polarbears's Kim Engelstad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Polarbears from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bård Bull stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Godset got a corner. Polarbears's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. August Bergsvik ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tor-Ivar Syvertsen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kim Engelstad quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 55 minutes into the match, Ulrik Thorsø notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Polarbears's Kim Engelstad. Kim Engelstad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ole-Einar Claussen charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ole-Einar Claussen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bård Bull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Engelstad having to interfere. Tor-Ivar Syvertsen hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
