Spectators: 7505 (Terracing: 5629, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Anders Sandberg got the match started through his kick off. Runar Kolltveit was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 5 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Jeppe Bryhn, was totally fooled by Nykland BK's Victor Hausken, who 7 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Rikard Stokkenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeppe Bryhn having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ståle Bjørgum in the 20th minute of play forced Linnehats IF's goalkeeper Jeppe Bryhn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeppe Bryhn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ståle Bjørgum, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Rikard Stokkenes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 played minutes Ståle Bjørgum rounded Linnehats IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. A collision led to Nykland BK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Anders Dahle hit a great ball. Ståle Bjørgum might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeppe Bryhn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ståle Bjørgum ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeppe Bryhn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ståle Bjørgum in the 45th minute of play. Marius Kind's late challenge caught a Nykland BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marius Kind helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Nykland BK booed when Linnehats IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Kind didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The audience was convinced that Rikard Stokkenes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeppe Bryhn was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Halvdan Elvenes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Theodor Baltzersen kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Halvdan Elvenes might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fred Haagensen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Halvdan Elvenes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Nykland BK's goalkeeper Fred Haagensen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Rikard Stokkenes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nykland BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rikard Stokkenes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Halvdan Elvenes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Haagensen having to make a save. Linnehats IF's Vebjørn Rønhovde got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Halvdan Elvenes came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Linnehats IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Halvdan Elvenes couldn't finish the play. Fred Haagensen came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Linnehats IF's Vebjørn Rønhovde. But to his dismay, Vebjørn Rønhovde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 87th minute, Rikard Stokkenes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute Ståle Bjørgum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeppe Bryhn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Halvdan Elvenes got free with Fred Haagensen in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nykland BK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Linnehats IF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
