Spectators: 6982 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1752, VIP seats: 30) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rune Andresen got the match started through his kick off. Vebjørn Aarseth came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Havstad FF's Ken Sanne. But to his dismay, Ken Sanne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Sanne in the 6th minute of play forced Saltvik's goalkeeper Vebjørn Aarseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Saltvik's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Sanne came free, but Vebjørn Aarseth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ken Sanne might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vebjørn Aarseth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ken Sanne ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Saltvik getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kristian Skjerven hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Ken Sanne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vebjørn Aarseth was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After 32 played minutes Havstad FF got a freekick which was hit by Per Nornes. After some careless play in the Havstad FF defense, Alf Kristiansen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jon-Inge Hopland. The Havstad FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jon-Inge Hopland should have stopped the shot. Havstad FF's Andreas Salbu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kai-Arne Gjøsund in the 37 minute of the game. The supporters of Saltvik booed when Havstad FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arild Honningsvåg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Sanne in the 40th minute of play forced Saltvik's goalkeeper Vebjørn Aarseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes Saltvik's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Are Rudolfsen who took care of the corner kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ken Sanne made the kick off in the second half. If Ken Sanne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arild Honningsvåg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Vebjørn Aarseth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saltvik's goalkeeper Vebjørn Aarseth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ken Sanne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Vebjørn Aarseth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ken Sanne in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vebjørn Aarseth saved Saltvik from getting behind. Martin Kristiansen hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Vebjørn Aarseth didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Ken Sanne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Havstad FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Ken Sanne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vebjørn Aarseth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arild Honningsvåg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Havstad FF's Ken Sanne slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vebjørn Aarseth. That made the score 1-3 after 86 minutes of play. Ken Sanne received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vebjørn Aarseth came out and tried to block the shot, but Ken Sanne slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 89th minute. In the 92nd minute, Martin Kristiansen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vebjørn Aarseth made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Ken Sanne sent off a good shot on target.
