Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Odd-Eirik Aase kicked off to start the match. Verner Lid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Morten Monsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tage Flaten in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fredrik Malvik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 7th minute Cristiano Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredrik Malvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Galatasaray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trond Rygg to maneuver through the defense. Kristen Aarhus kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joachim Harnes during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28thth minute of the game Cristiano Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Porsgrund's Fredrik Malvik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute of the match Joachim Harnes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fredrik Malvik skillfully saved the ball. Cristiano Branco struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Fredrik Malvik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray. When Galatasaray's Cristiano Branco in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Porsgrund's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Galatasaray's Verner Lid got control of the ball when Lasse Kjørstad tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute, one of Porsgrund:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Porsgrund. Joachim Harnes shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Fredrik Malvik came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Galatasaray's Tage Flaten. But to his dismay, Tage Flaten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 48 minutes into the game, Cristiano Branco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fredrik Malvik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Morten Monsen's late challenge caught a Galatasaray's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Morten Monsen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, Porsgrund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Morten Monsen to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the game, Porsgrund's Lasse Kjørstad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Verner Lid made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Cristiano Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Malvik having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Branco in the 71st minute of play forced Porsgrund's goalkeeper Fredrik Malvik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verner Lid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lasse Kjørstad in the 74th minute of play. Marius Haddal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Verner Lid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lasse Kjørstad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Verner Lid read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tage Flaten got free with Fredrik Malvik in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lasse Kjørstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Verner Lid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bjarne Wiig kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. When Porsgrund's Lasse Kjørstad in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galatasaray's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpected shot in the 99th minute by Tage Flaten got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galatasaray eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
